My sister got married!! YAY!!!
Posted by: AmandaTherefore, when it was time for my sister’s wedding, there was no telling what fate had in store for us. Thankfully, she had taken it all out on us the last trip and had nothing left to throw at us this time. It was a fun trip with no major family feuds or disastrous stories to tell. Instead, you get this boring story of my sisters wedding weekend. We had fun though… and now I can’t wait to go back.
Tony and I got in to Farmington around 1AM Thursday morning... after driving in the dark…and in the snow. We were exhausted!! We got a little bit of sleep and then Tony got to go to breakfast with Bill, Dylan and Sydney at Los Hermanitos for huevos rancheros while I went with my sisters and nieces for pedicures and facials at the college – $7 a pedi and $25 a facial!! Sweet deal!After our morning fun, we all drove to Colorado for the rehearsal in the FREEZING cold cabin that was also v. pretty. Everyone cried. Pam's friend Rene is a bitch. Sydney is the CUTEST thing ever.
The Rehearsal Dinner was at Si Senor. Lots of laughing and gossiping…and my mom telling Tony to give my dad a load of manure if/when he ask if he can marry me. Why, no one knows… After dinner Tony and I were off to Best Buy to buy a $300 stereo for my sister's wedding, praying we could return it after.
Thursday evening we stayed up till 2 going through the music song by song with Pam so she could have the music she wanted. We made playlists, picked songs, and then labeled soda cans for wedding favors and finally got some sleep....
Friday was breakfast at Los Hermanitos again (to meet my dad and Bill) and more music stuff and then off to the wedding!! We set up music, decorated, ate sandwiches and then got ready for the festivities to begin. Pam's friend Rene was a bitch – barking orders and just being nasty in general. Sydney was the cutest thing ever watching movies on her portable DVD player!!
Tricia and I had to fold skin/suck in/stuff ourselves in our tops for the wedding... then spent the rest of the night not being able to breathe, eat, or move and in pain. But, hey, we looked pretty. Tony did an awesome job with the music! Pam looked beautiful in her dress and snow cape with fur and white hair. We all cried... and Pam got married!!!!! YAY!!! During the ceremony my Aunt Margie commented in her loud "I'm old so who cares what I say or when" voice "Estoy frio" (I'm cold.) And… I'd like to introduce to you Carl and Pam Croft!
Commence Rene being more of a bitch, eating dinner and then dancing. Rene ran around snapping orders at everyone and at one point thought someone was holding up the food line and took their biscuit out of their hand and buttered it for them. Tony and I were appalled.
We danced and danced... my cousins are crazy and we have the videos to prove it! Everyone had fun!! We love you Pam!!
Saturday started with breakfast at… you guessed it, Los Hermanitos (poor Tony, it's the only place that could hold us all) with EVERYONE. My cousin Chris and his girlfriend showed up in matching gansta outfits. It was SO embarrassing. We took a million pictures in every different pose and configuration we could come up with.
After breakfast, we were off to Best Buy again to buy cables for the stereo. Michael (Rosie's husband) decided to keep it for his media room. Rosie was NOT happy about it. Especially after she came and told Tony and me that Michael was NO WAY/NOT EVER going to buy that from me... after he had already given me the check... HA HA!!!
Then we went to see Jon play baseball. I meet my friend Kaleena there... she had nothing at all to say (she's always been quiet) but wouldn't go away. She came over to my mom's (couldn't get rid of her) and we hung out. We missed going to the hot springs... because she wouldn't leave. :( My aunt Margie came over, was delusion as usual. Poor Margie… at least she giggles a lot!!
Tony went with my dad to help him wash his car (awe, how sweet!!) and saw a car accident. Apparently, this guy did not have insurance, or a license and was probably drunk, because he jumped out of his car and ran away. Tony has pictures! Sadly none of the guy running, that would have been awesome!
Kaleena finally left and we went to dinner where my mom refused to sit by Aunt Margie so she could sit by Tricia and me and steal our beer all evening. Luckily for me, she liked Tricia's better!
Jon had a prom fiasco... he got stuck at his baseball game and was late picking up Gayla. She called and cussed him out. She had Nick (my other nephew) call and cuss him out. THEN her mom called and yelled at Rosie. We were SO pissed, I think Tricia's gonna kick her ass later! Jon looked awesome in his white tux and almost won the dance contest (after stupid Gayla finally calmed down and went). He would have won too, if he hadn't been hit in the ankle at baseball and been dancing with an injury. He came home around 2 and was so cute telling me all about it!!
Sunday was nice... went to my parents to look at everyone's pictures. They came out so good. Played with the baby. She's SO cute. I told her "I love you Sydney." She said, "I love you too... I love this show" (Backyardagains) and then fell over on the blow-up-mattress and started laughing.
I bawled like a baby when we left. So did Tricia.
Then a LONG drive home... only made bearable with two pickles, a bag of cool ranch Doritos, a bag of spicy habanera Doritos, pumpkin seeds, diet cokes and subway.
Then home again… to LOVELY Kasey and her lost car!! Thanks again KASEY!!!
